. . " (3019,1) Situation: While running a manual scan of the hard drive, you receive the following error message: "Norton AntiVirus was unable to scan your computer for infections because a critical error occurred during the scan." In the lower-left corner of the window, you see the numbers 3019,1. Solution: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you begin: If you see the error message "APWCMD.DLL file is linked to missing export ..." you have a corrupted install of Norton AntiVirus. Please read the document Error: "APWCMD.DLL file is linked to missing export APWUTIL.DLL . . . " for help fixing this error. If you do not see the APWCMD.DLL error, this problem should be fixed in the latest Norton AntiVirus program update. To install the update, start Norton AntiVirus, run LiveUpdate, download all available updates, including any Norton AntiVirus Updates, and then restart the computer when prompted. For more details on how to run LiveUpdate, see the document How to run LiveUpdate. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you continue to see this problem, the Norton AntiVirus virus scan may be encountering a large compressed, encrypted, or damaged file in one of the Windows temporary folders, and the virus scan cannot successfully open this folder for scanning. To solve this, follow the steps in each section in the order listed. To clear the Temporary Internet Files folders in Internet Explorer In many cases, the file that is causing the problem is located in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Files that are located in these folders are usually not needed. Removing these files should fix the problem. Open Internet Explorer. Click the Tools menu, and then click "Internet Options." Click the "Delete Files" button. Click OK. Run another Norton AntiVirus virus scan. If you encounter the problem again, then proceed to the next section. To delete all temporary files In many cases, the file that is causing the problem is located in the Windows Temp folder. Files that are located in this folder are usually not needed and removing them should fix the problem. For detailed instructions, read the document How to delete Windows temporary files. When finished, run another scan. If this does not fix the problem, then try the workaround in the next section. Workaround: To configure Norton AntiVirus to not scan compressed files Start Norton AntiVirus. If Norton AntiVirus is part of Norton Internet Security or Norton SystemWorks then start that program. Click Options. Click Norton AntiVirus if you see a menu. Click "Manual Scans" or "Manual Scan." Uncheck "Scan within compressed files." Click OK to save changes, and then exit NAV. Run the scan again. Alvast bedankt
