Mandrake 10 S3 Vision probleem

  • Hallo , ik wil op mijn 300mhz bakkie met de S3 Vision 968 mandrake 10 draaien. Dus ik heb em geinstaleerd met kde maar als ik nu inlog onder root en type: kde dan kan hij kde niet geboot krijgen, terwijl ik bij de installatie de juiste drivers van mijn Vision 968 en de monitor geslecteerd heb! Er komt natuurlijk een log uitprutteren, maar daar word ik niet echt wijzer uit. kan iemand mij helpen ?! Bij voorbaad dank!   • Dat helpt geen donder Jolo, de regel geeft aan op welke BusID de kaart zit, er is geen sectie die zegt welke driver geladen moet worden. Blijkbaar configureert het mandrake tooltje de kaart niet goed. Je zou het volgende kunnen proberen: xf86cfg -textmode Dat biedt een relatief eenvoudige interface, en is onderdeel van X zelf. Loop alle onderdelen bijlangs. Als de kaart niet in de lijst staat bij het configureren van de videokaart, kun je de "s3" module kiezen... Mocht dit niet werken roep dan maar, dan moet er een sectie in je XF86Config aangepast worden...

Volgens dit deel van de /var/log/XFree86.0.log wordt de S3 driver geladen.
