ADSL-USB niet aan de gang

- Ik krijg mijn Alcatel-USB modem maar niet aan de praat in Redhat 8.0 (in Windows OK).
Heb verschillende instructies nauwkeurig gevolgd en ik ben zo ver gekomen:
[root@localhost root]# modem_run -m -f /root/mgmt/mgmt.o

Wachtwoord, gebruikersnaam PAP en CHAP zijn OK.
